P.A.R. 4 Charities Announces Inaugural Annual Golf Tournament
FORT COLLINS, COLORADO (PRWEB) September 01, 2017 -- Providing Adaptive Resources (PAR) announced today it will begin an annual golf tournament starting September 9. Proceeds from the event will go to providing resources to those who have suffered a traumatic change of lifestyle due to accidents, injuries or diseases.
Stacey Sorensen, founder and Director of PAR is one such person who suffered an unseen injury due to disease. In December 2016, Sorensen went to the doctor for a swollen foot, upon closer inspection the foot was infected and the sepsis was close to entering his blood stream.
When presented with the treatment methods Sorensen opted for a below the knee amputation, Sorensen said, “I have 6 grandkids and a love of golf to get back to!”
Sorensen’s love for the community was sparked during his rehabilitation and he felt there was more he could do to help those who found themselves in similar situations.
“During my rehab, I learned that there are more and more resources available than even a few year ago,” said Sorensen. “I also learned that insurance does not always cover adaptive needs and that many are not able to go back to work forcing some to re-invent themselves.”
PAR 4 Charities aims to help provide these adaptive needs through donations and using Sorensen’s love of golf to help gather the necessary resources through sponsored golf tournaments.
“We’re lucky enough to have sponsorships on our inaugural tournament and can’t thank 3 Day Blinds and other sponsors enough for their generous donations” said Sorensen. “We might be new, but our goals are big and we are excited to see what we can do.”
Tournament registration is open and golfers can register at http://www.par4charities.weebly.com. Single registrants are $125 per person or $400 per foursome. Tournament to be held at Mountain Vista Greens 2808 NE Frontage Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
