Persivia Announces Distribution Agreement with Henry Schein for its Artificial Intelligence-Based Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS)
LOWELL, Mass. (PRWEB) May 09, 2018 -- Persivia, whose software employs artificial intelligence (AI) to enable earlier clinical interventions and superior cost management, announced today a distribution agreement with Henry Schein Medical Systems, Inc., developers of MicroMD® practice management and electronic medical records software (MicroMD EMR) for medical practices and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Henry Schein, Inc. Henry Schein will distribute Persivia’s healthcare data analytics software to its medical customers.
Persivia’s Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS), powered by the SolitonTM AI engine, will enable MicroMD EMR to deliver real-time, evidence-based alerts, guidelines, and protocols to clinicians to improve clinical quality measure scores (including MIPS, CPC+, and ACO quality measures) and reduce costs.
“As the emergence of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies reshape decision making in clinical workflows, Persivia arms physicians with evidence-based knowledge at the point of need to substantially improve scores,” said Dr. Mansoor Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Persivia. “By partnering with Henry Schein Medical Systems, Persivia is also helping to improve the quality of care with better-informed decisions. Together we can extend the reach of evidence-based care to help the health system reap tremendous benefits in the years to come.”
The SolitonTM AI engine accesses evidence-based knowledge from thousands of sources and uses the resulting insights to continuously evaluate all the data known about each individual patient to generate alerts and treatment guidelines that are specific to that patient at that point in time and help improve clinical quality scores. Because the system allows each physician to choose the engine’s areas of focus, it reduces alert fatigue and gives the physician the ability to control areas targeted for improvement, for example, improving Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) scoring.
“We evaluated numerous CDSS vendors prior to selecting Persivia,” said Kristen Heffernan, General Manager, Henry Schein Medical Systems. “Persivia’s CDSS solution allows MicroMD EMR to support a very large range of clinical scenarios and workflows without overburdening the user. The ease of integration provided by Persivia’s API made them the natural choice for us.”
