Philippe van den Bossche, an Impact Investor and Advocate of Sustainable Agriculture, Commends Dane County’s Organic Agriculture Lands Initiative
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) October 19, 2013 -- Philippe van den Bossche, an impact investor and advocate of sustainable agriculture, commends Dane County, Wisconsin for leasing land in one of its parks for organic farming and to promote community land use.
According to a September 20, 2013 article published by the Badger Herald, titled, “Dane County to lease land for organic farming,” Dane County, located in Wisconsin, announced it would be leasing 24 acres of land in CamRock County Park to a farmer for organic farming purposes.
The lease is part of the county’s “Organic Agriculture Lands” initiative. Joe Parisi, Dane County Executive, says the county started this initiative because of the apparent growing trend of organic farming and sustainable agriculture. “Agriculture and local foods are a growing business in our region and everywhere, and one of the challenges our growers run into in Dane County is finding available land.”
Philippe van den Bossche, an impact investor and advocate of sustainable agriculture, says the county’s initiative is an effective way to bring organic farming to a local level. “The Dane County Organic Agriculture Lands Initiative is an important program for both local organic farmers and consumers of local, organic fruits and vegetables,” he says.
“This lease of land will stimulate local economies, making it a win-win situation for all those involved. I hope other counties around the US will follow suite and provide the same options to their local organic growers.”
