New York, NY (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- The newest version of the award-winning student information system (SIS), PowerSchool, is now available to all K12 schools and districts. Debuting next week at ISTE 2015 in Philadelphia, PowerSchool 9.0 delivers easy-to-use new capabilities and feature enhancements requested by current school district customers and prospective SIS buyers.
“PowerSchool 9.0 is one of the most solid and stable releases I've seen. We have a lot of customizations, so I usually approach a major new release with a bit of apprehension, but PowerSchool 9.0 pretty much just works. The user interface is intuitive and user-friendly; the new data visualization and export frameworks provide the seeds for exciting new growth. PowerSchool just keeps getting better with each new release,” said Jeremy Davis-Vollrath, PowerSchool Administrator at California State Special Schools.
PowerSchool is the most widely-used SIS, serving more than 13 million students in the US, Canada and in more than 70 countries. PowerSchool plays a central role in K12 education, serving as the hub of customers’ education ecosystems with robust features and APIs that allow education stakeholders to effectively manage school processes and student data and connect education technologies relied upon in school offices and classrooms alike.
Developed to meet schools’ evolving needs and expectations for integrated information and technology management, PowerSchool 9.0 includes a major update to the area of standards and grades, new data visualizations and grid features, enhancements to the areas of data export, scheduling, PowerSchool APIs, and a new Registration Module. PowerSchool Registration, available as an option with PowerSchool 9.0, is a self-service module that provides online enrollment and registration capabilities in the core product.
“With 40 million regular users we know how important PowerSchool is to the lives of learners, parents, and education professionals,” said Bryan MacDonald, managing director, School Systems. “The new features in PowerSchool extend and expand the student information system’s capabilities with robust, easy-to-use tools to more effectively manage school processes and student data, and, ultimately, achieve the critical goal of improving learning and teaching.”
PowerSchool 9.0 includes a new unified PowerSchool Mobile app, available to parents and students with iOS and Android devices. PowerSchool Mobile has a fresh new user interface and a completely redesigned look to improve user experience; new communications and push notifications make it even easier for parents and students to view real-time data for grades, attendance, teacher comments and more.
PowerSchool 9.0 also includes an update to Oracle security in the release. PowerSchool recently achieved Oracle Exadata Optimized status, the only SIS to achieve this advanced certification.
PowerSchool 9.0 will be showcased at the ISTE 2015 conference in Philadelphia, June 28 - July 1. In addition at ISTE 2015, PowerSchool will unveil a new brand identity, including a new PowerSchool logo that visually illustrates all PowerSchool stakeholders: administrators, teachers, parents and students. PowerSchool ISV Partners will also participate in product demonstrations in the PowerSchool booth, #1863.
PowerSchool 9.0 is available to all current customers as part of the PowerSchool maintenance and support program, and can be downloaded by customers through the Pearson PowerSource program. Hosted customers who have selected the automatic upgrade plan will have PowerSchool 9.0 installed shortly after release date. To learn more about PowerSchool, visit http://www.powerschool.com.
