PPC Claim Sued By ReachLocal And Sharon Rowlands
California (PRWEB UK) 11 May 2016 -- PPC Claim has reported that ReachLocal CEO Sharon Rowlands has issued proceedings against PPC Claim. The complaint alleges that PPC Claim have broken rules of trade secret misappropriation, intentional interference with contractual relations, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, violation of California business and professions code and declaratory relief.
Case reference number 2:16-cv-01007-R-AJW will be heard in the United States District Court, Central District of California, Central Division.
According to the documents served on PPC Claim the main argument is that PPC Claim have managed to unlawfully obtain ReachLocal's confidential and proprietary customer lists.
It is also alleged that PPC Claim have been making disparaging comments and mis-leading assertions about ReachLocal's business.
In the court documents ReachLocal claim that the lists are trade secrets and are protected by the uniform trade secrets act.
Court documents also state that ReachLocal allege intentional interference with contractual relations, whereby PPC Claim contacted ReachLocal clients and informed them of events in the UK.
ReachLocal have also managed to get a temporary restraining order against PPC Claim stopping PPC Claim from contacting ReachLocal clients direct. The restraining order was granted by Judge Manuel Real in The United States District Court, Central District of California, Central Division on the 1st April CASE NO. 2:16-cv-01007-R-AJW.
PPC Claim has filed an appeal against the restraining order.
The judge sitting the case is Judge Manuel Real. Manuel Real is a judge of U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and was nominated by President Lyndon B. Johnson.
