ProShip, Inc. Supports Local Non-Profit In Annual Fundraising Event
Brookfield, Wis. (PRWEB) August 14, 2014 -- ProShip, Inc., has announced its involvement with the local non-profit organization, Succinic Semialdehyde Dehyrogenase Deficiency (SSADH) Association’s event, Chip for Charity, as its title sponsor. The company has shown its support of the organization’s mission as a sponsor since the event’s inception in 1998. Through the annual event alone the SSADH Association has raised nearly $800,000 towards its cause.
The SSADH Association is an organization comprised of volunteers dedicated to increasing awareness of the rare genetic disorder, Succinic Semialdehyde Dehyrogenase Deficiency. With approximately 500 cases worldwide, founders of the organization, Carolyn and Brad Hoffman, were motivated to create the SSADH Association to help children and families affected by the disorder and raise funds to generate research when their second son was diagnosed at the age of two.
“We are immensely grateful to ProShip for its unwavering support,” said Brad Hoffman, SSADH Association President and Co-Founder. “Chip for Charity has given hope to families around the world that someday we will find a therapeutic treatment or even a cure for the devastating side effects of SSADH.”
Held each year, Chip for Charity is a golf outing that invites over 300 people to come together in support of the SSADH Association. The event will be held this year, September 4 at Kettle Hills Golf Club in Richfield, Wisconsin. Speaking at the event this year, will be K. Michael Gibson, Ph.D., chair of the medical and scientific advisory board of the SSADH Association and its leading researcher. Gibson has spent a greater part of his 30-year career researching the disorder and serves as a resource to families who are impacted by the disorder.
“We are proud of the relationship that we have fostered with the SSADH Association and we look forward to hearing about the progress in research that has been made since we gathered together last September,” stated ProShip Vice President, Tim Casey.
