Raffle raises £26k for Pendleside Hospice
(PRWEB UK) 14 October 2015 -- Providing care to enhance the quality of life for people facing life-limiting illnesses, the hospice plays a crucial role in supporting terminally-ill individuals, as well as their families and loved ones, during what is an extremely difficult time for all.
With annual running costs of more than £3.8 million, the hospice receives approximately one-quarter of this figure from the local NHS East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group.
However, this leaves a significant hole in the funding required to keep this important service up and running, and that is where members of the public are integral in showing their support.
As such, the news that Pendleside Hospice's Annual Car Raffle has raised a total of £26,300 in 2015 is an extremely welcome development, given the fact that the hospice relies on the goodwill and generosity of the public to continue its work.
The lucky winner of this year's car raffle was Jean Kite from Colne, who now has the choice of receiving either a 15-plate Mini One in Volcanic Orange or an £8,000 cash prize.
Providing free care to around 1,000 people each year, the services providing by the skilled and generous staff of Pendleside Hospice are truly a boon to the local area and to anyone facing the terrible news that they or a loved one has a terminal illness.
As a result, both Fuel Card Services and Pendleside Hospice would like to thank all those that purchased a ticket to this year's raffle, while staff have also highlighted how the ongoing help and support of patrons for this charitable organisation continue to be appreciated.
