Rainmakers Announces New Owner Start 2018
RUIDOSO, N.M. (PRWEB) February 19, 2018 -- Rainmakers, Southern New Mexico’s premier resort community and golf club, announces new ownership as the property celebrates its 17th anniversary.
Over the holidays, Dallas/Fort Worth-based businessman and commercial real estate developer Bill Vaughan purchased the award-winning, 1,023-acre community in the foothills of the Sierra Blanca mountains.
“I consider ownership of the Rainmakers property to be both an honor and a unique privilege,” Vaughan wrote in an introductory letter to the club’s members.
The purchase stems from Vaughan’s lifelong love of the Ruidoso area.
Originally born in Hobbs, N.M., Vaughan said he made celebrated summer and winter pilgrimages to Ruidoso, and that the community, “is as much like home as any place that I have ever lived.”
He lives in the Dallas area with his wife, Kathryn, and their son, Will, who is a freshman at their alma mater, Texas A&M.
“As for Rainmakers, I believe that the natural beauty is undeniable and the quality of the improvements to date are exceptionally well done,” Vaughan said to members.
“My goal is to further develop Rainmakers into a place like no other in New Mexico where family memories are made, where folks can relax and exhale, enjoy an abundance of resort amenities catering to all ages, get to know their neighbors, be pampered by our exceptional staff, and enjoy the God-given beauty of this very special place.”
Vaughan assured members that the “excellent” staff will remain intact.
“All of the familiar faces that you have come to love and appreciate will remain,” he said. Furthermore, Jim Helms also agreed to remain as Rainmakers’ President and General Manager of the Resort.
“Jim is an absolute treasure and we are fortunate to have his depth of experience benefitting us all at the club,” Vaughan said.
While there will be no major staff upheaval, there will be some additions. Vaughan told members there will be some new faces added to the real estate marketing team at Rainmakers, and that for the first time, Rainmakers will employ a full-time marketing staff dedicated to selling the community’s existing and planned residential lots.
“Our plan is to aggressively market the real estate in the development in new and creative ways over the next few years,” he said.
Rainmakers will sweeten the appeal to both prospective homeowners and visitors as it seeks to further bolster the profile of its lauded 7,200-yard Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course--which was ranked in 2018 by Golf Digest as one of the top three golf resorts in the State of New Mexico.
“We plan to take Rainmakers to the next level and make it the best resort in New Mexico and the Southwest!” Vaughan said.
With its amenity-rich 15,000 square foot clubhouse, the on-site and nearby recreational and entertainment options, and plans underway to add even more family-friendly amenities, Vaughan says Rainmakers already has a healthy head start on that goal.
