Rakiraki Ramen & Tsukemen Introduces the California Ramen Burger
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) August 31, 2013 -- In response to the latest food craze originating in New York early August, Rakiraki Ramen & Tsukemen in San Diego is now offering a variety of ramen burgers on its menu featuring a signature item appropriately named the California Ramen Burger.
“With increasing popularity, I was inspired to mirror the concept of the original ramen burger, while adding a California twist,” said owner and executive chef Junya Watanabe. “I wanted a burger that fused not only American and Japanese culture, but also give it a taste of California using locally grown avocados and organic ingredients.”
Rakiraki’s California Ramen Burger features the signature ramen noodle bun with a tsukune patty made of triple-pressed ground chicken with shiitake and kikurage mushroom, chicken soft bone, onion, green onion, shiso leaf, ginger, garlic, and natural Japanese herbs. It is topped with a five-spice soy sauce, spicy mayo, tomato, and California avocado, all wrapped in fresh, green-leaf lettuce.
“The natural and organic ingredients we use to make our patty topped with California avocados bring out a refreshing combination of flavors,” said Watanabe. “And while the outside ramen noodle bun is lightly crisped, the noodles are still quite soft and juicy on the inside.”
Rakiraki’s signature California Ramen Burger served with sweet potato fries is available for $10.75. Additional California Ramen Burger options include 100% certified angus ground beef, organic turkey, aburi underbelly chasiu, Setagaya Tonkatsu Curry prime pork loin cutlet and three-grain roasted corn, black bean and roasted pepper veggie topped with lettuce, tomato, spicy mayo, and five-spice soy sauce served with sweet potato fries for $8.75.
“As the trend continues to escalate, I’m curious to see how Californians will respond to this unconventional and creative fusion of Japanese-American culture,” said Watanabe. “I’m excited to finally give people a taste of our very own California Ramen Burger here, in the west coast.”
