Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- For the fifth year in a row, Ralphs is pleased to offer Speak Out. It’s YOUR Earth! An Earth Day inspired field trip available during the month of April. This free hands-on learning experience is designed to educate children about the world they live in through a highly interactive tour around their local Ralphs’ store.
With a focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and its relationship to the environment, this field trip aligns with Common Core and local learning standards. In celebration of Earth Day and the five year anniversary of this program, students will learn even more great ways to make a positive impact on their environment through easy, everyday behavioral changes.
Speak Out. It’s YOUR Earth! provides educators with an excellent opportunity to reinforce the lessons they are already teaching in class. Learning lessons in familiar environments makes it easy to understand how Earth-friendly habits can pertain to one’s own life. This makes grocery stores, like Ralphs, the perfect stage on which to provide education that benefits families, communities and most importantly students.
“The earlier we can teach our youth about environmental responsibility, the better! Ralphs is proud to be able to provide students with the tools to help make a difference in their world. It’s even more exciting when entire schools support and implement these good habits like recycling and conserving water. What a great way for us all to see how easy it is to make a big difference by implementing little changes,” said Ralphs Environmental Affairs Director, Melissa Peña.
Developed in partnership with Field Trip Factory, Speak Out. It’s YOUR Earth! is offered free of charge to all elementary schools, Scout groups, homeschoolers, daycares and community organizations with students in Pre K-6 grades.
Taking place throughout the month of April, Speak Out. It’s YOUR Earth! is available at select Ralphs locations. Field Trips must be arranged at least one week prior to the actual tour. To schedule your Field Trip, go to http://www.fieldtripfactory.com/programs/ralphs or call 800-987-6409.
