RBMA Announces 2014 Scholarship Winners
Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- The Radiology Business Management Association is pleased to recognize the 2014 winners of its two scholarship programs, the Bob Luther Emerging Leader Travel Scholarship and the vRad Education Scholarship.
This year’s winner of the Bob Luther Emerging Leader Travel Scholarship is Sarah Chester of East Georgia Radiology (Statesboro, GA). Chester worked in banking for eight years prior to transitioning to the healthcare field, and has served as the practice manager of the six-partner, hospital-based radiology group for almost two years.
The winners of this round of vRad Education Scholarships are Richard Duemmling and Erica Lane. Duemmling has a career background in IT and an educational background in business; he has worked at Neuro Imaging Winter Park (Winter Park, FL) for two years, first as a systems administrator and now as business manager. Lane joined Sierra Imaging Associates (Clovis, CA) as practice manager in September of last year; she brings a background in finance and management to the role, and is close to completing her bachelor’s in healthcare management.
“The RBMA is proud to recognize our 2014 scholarship winners,” said Michael Mabry, executive director of the RBMA. “We are committed to providing educational and personal development opportunities to radiology’s emerging practice leaders, and look forward to welcoming this year’s scholarship recipients at our conferences.”
The Bob Luther Emerging Leader Travel Scholarship recognizes the potential of a new manager or an individual looking to advance his or her career in management of a radiology practice. Awarded on an annual basis, this scholarship enables the recipient to attend either the RBMA Radiology Summit or the Fall Educational Conference.
The vRad Education Scholarship, underwritten by Virtual Radiologic, comprises six annual prizes of $1,500 each. Issued on a rolling basis, these scholarships are intended to cover registration and other costs incurred by attending one of the RBMA’s annual meetings. In order for an RBMA member to be eligible, he or she must not have attended an RBMA meeting in the past three years.
The Radiology Business Management Association is a national not-for-profit association providing members with applied business information and intelligence applicable in any radiology setting. The RBMA has approximately 2,300 members involved in various management capacities in private practices, academic radiology groups, imaging centers and hospitals. The RBMA continues to be recognized as the leader for radiology-specific educational programs, products and services, publications and data.
