Recall and CBS46 Atlanta Event Sets New Guinness World Record
Norcross, Ga. (PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- Recall Holdings Limited (ASX: REC), a global leader in information management, today announced that the company, in conjunction with CBS46 Atlanta, set a new Guinness World Record for “Most Paper Collected in One Day.” The record, which was verified by Guinness on January 16, took place at the “Great Shredder Event,” on September 7, 2013 at Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves.
More than 100 volunteers helped unload cartons of documents from long lines of cars, as
Recall and CBS46 Atlanta collected 175,750 pounds (125,078 kilograms) of paper from local residents and small businesses in the Atlanta area to break the previous record of 84 tons by a wide margin. The paper was then securely transported and securely destroyed by Recall to protect against identity theft. Recall also provided guidelines on shredding and retaining confidential personal information to help educate residents and small business owners how to securely manage their information and reduce liability.
“As a global company based in Atlanta, it’s fitting that we facilitated a new world record right here in our city,” noted the President of Recall Americas, Mark Wesley. “Secure management of confidential information is critical in protecting against identity theft for both consumers and the businesses that hold their records. The world record offers an excellent example of how Recall rapidly and securely manages tremendous quantities of confidential information.”
Secure destruction is just a part of the full information management lifecycle.
