RedHed Tools Advances Landscaping Technology with Revolutionary New Tool
(PRWEB) January 11, 2014 -- A rethinking of the traditional shovel challenges the validity of the statement, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Redhed Tools is attempting to revolutionize yard work by improving on the simplest of tools.
CEO and Founder of RedHed Tools, Rick Meinzer, is preparing to launch a new set of tools he designed while his experience managing his landscaping company (Platinum Landscape LLC in Utah). His goals with his new multipurpose tool system are to increase longevity of equipment and improve efficiency on the job.
The RedHed Tools Essential Package contains two shovels, one broom, and one rake head as well as 8 different extensions and handles that are interchangeable into 32 different tool combinations. This begs the question, why is this important?
As Rick explains, "Typical yard and garden tools just don’t last. The handles and even the metal heads break, split, or just plain ol’ wear out. And at $40, $50, even $70 a piece, the cost adds up..."
Meinzer believes the outsourcing of manufacturing of many consumer goods has led to lower quality materials, shoddy workmanship, and poor durability thanks to a mass production approach designed to save money. RedHed Tools changes that.
RedHed Tools are produced with an immeasurable amount of quality and attention to detail to make the kind of tools your grandfather might have had, but you simply can't find anywhere anymore. The interchangeable handles are intended to suit every feasible purpose for any job. If you need a short shovel and a long broom, you have it; no need to purchase more inferior equipment from the big box stores. Redhed Tools even takes it a step further than the tools of yester-year, by producing the wooden shafts from knot free, straight grain hickory wood, which is oil rubbed (as opposed to inferior varnish or shellac that will wear off with moderate use). Wood cut, lathed, and treated in this way, produces longevity to outlive any other tools you may own, and any tools your children may own.
The quality of steel used in manufacturing is directly related to the durability of tools. “Steel is a modern marvel of the past millennium,” Meinzer says. “This alloy of iron mixed with other elements such as chromium, carbon, or molybdenum creates a much harder and rigid material. All steel is not created equal, especially in the case of tool manufacturing.” RedHed Tools produces their metals with a 400 classification of steel meeting the apex of longevity and structure without easily breaking down. For this metal to degrade one would need to either repeatedly smash it on something harder than itself, or heat it to a temperature of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit to make an impact on its shape.
Meinzer explains the 14 gauge tempered steel is then powder coated in a unique toy box red color which prevents oxidation, scuffs, and corrosion. This tool actually makes a fashion statement.
“We all strive to purchase products that have quality and ingenuity built in, and this would be a great addition for the tool shed of an avid gardener, or even a landscaping professional,” Meinzer says.
Check out RedHed Tools today, and pre order a kit for the launch date of mid January while there is still stock, as these are expected to fly off the shelves.
