Resource One Credit Union Celebrates 77th Anniversary
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 15, 2013 -- Resource One Credit Union will be celebrating their 77th Anniversary on July 15, 2013, which by itself is something to brag about, but they aren't going to stop there. Resource One started the celebration in May and will continue through the end of July with a special loan campaign that gives the member a choice of special financing options, as well as an additional gift. They are turning up the fun the week of July 15th – July 20th, with additional specials.
“Credit Unions are unique in the way that we focus on our members. We enjoy giving back to those that support us, through better rates, lower fees, financial education and personal service. We also look for opportunities, such as a 77th birthday to celebrate with our members and give a little more” said Jim Brisendine, CEO, Resource One Credit Union.
Resource One was originally chartered on July 15, 1936, under the name of Sears Dallas Employees Federal Credit Union. Their mission was to fulfill the financial needs of the employees of the Catalog Order Plant of Sears, Roebuck, and Company in Dallas, Texas. Since 1936, Resource One has been delighting members, and has over 46,000 members worldwide today.
Over time, the increased demand for more locations and additional products and services prompted the expansion of their product lines and field of membership. Through mergers with other company credit unions such as The Dallas Morning News, Safeway, The Southland Corporation, Texas Associates Federal Credit Union, Priority One Credit Union and most recently, Metroplex Credit Union, Resource One has built a solid foundation from which to expand its field of membership.
Their commitment to service, growth and innovative financial products is best expressed through their Vision Statement: Our Members’ One Resource. “As we reflect on our accomplishments over the past 77 years, we look forward to serving the North Texas and Houston communities for many more years to come,” said Doug Bedner, COO of Resource One Credit Union.
Like all credit unions, Resource One is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that is owned by the people who save and borrow there. Resource One members share a common bond, such as employment and/or place of residence or work and they combine their savings to create a pool of funds from which qualified members can borrow. Interest earned on loans and investments is returned to members in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates, and additional services.
