Rocla Concrete Tie, Inc. Completes Expansion to Mexico Railroad Market
Denver, CO (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 -- Rocla Concrete Tie, Inc. (“RCTI”) headquartered in Denver, Colorado recently has commissioned a new manufacturing facility in San Jose Iturbide, Mexico. The facility and business will operate under a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rocla Concrete Tie, Inc. known as “RCTI de Mexico.”
The new manufacturing plant, 40 km north of the major Mexican city of Queretaro, is situated on 4.8 hectares (11.86 acres) and will also serve as the corporate office for RCTI de Mexico. The facility, located along Kansas City Southern de Mexico mainline, has the ability to produce up to 300,000 concrete ties per year with the option to double capacity if required.
Eliseo Bandala, Vice President, said, “The growth of the Mexican Class I railroad market has led to increased demand for concrete ties, and we are pleased to be a key supplier to this region. As with our existing businesses in the United States and abroad, we look to find customers who become our partners, businesses that we can work with for the long term to provide them with the lowest cost and best quality solutions. We see the ongoing success of the Mexican railroads as being ideal for this model.”
The construction of the new facility was completed in less than six months with the first concrete ties being delivered from the new facility in April. The new plant now offers a complete line-up of products for each of the railroad sectors including heavy haul mainline, transit, high speed and industrial grade concrete ties.
