Rose Maxx PhD Is The ‘Queen Of Fools’ In Memoir
NEW YORK (PRWEB) January 11, 2017 -- With a generous helping of self deprecating humor, Rose Maxx PhD shares her story of how she got swindled for a quarter of a million dollars by a romance scammer. She explains that four years after her husband’s death, she ventured into online dating and there she met a man who claimed to be Danish, now a naturalized United States citizen, an engineer carrying out a lucrative contract in Kuala Lumpur.
It really was a series of scams all perpetrated on her, scams in which he claimed not to have the money to carry out parts of his project. The deal was that when he completed the project, he would return to the United States, pay her back for everything she funded for him, and they would marry. In looking back, Rose sees clearly that she fell victim to his scam because she was emotionally needy following her husband’s death.
Rose was encouraged to write her story for two reasons. First, it was cathartic for her to do so. Although she was mortified that she could have been taken in by such a scoundrel, writing about it was like therapy. Secondly, she truly believed that telling her story could help other women who might find themselves in a similar situation. Scammers like the one Rose fell victim to look for people who might be vulnerable, particularly widowed women who might fall prey to them because they are bereft after the loss of a loving husband. In retrospect, Rose sees clearly how she became a victim and believes that others can benefit from her experience.
“Queen of Fools” is an expertly written account of the horrible event Rose Maxx endured and should be mandatory reading for anyone who ventures into online dating.
