Raanana, Israel (PRWEB UK) 19 December 2013 -- Rubidium Ltd., a global supplier of embedded speech processing technologies, announced today that it has released a new ASR and TTS engine for Japanese. Rubidium has spent the past few months integrating these forms of Japanese into its powerful embedded speech processing suite.
Rubidium's new Japanese release supports the three standard character sets: Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. The Japanese ASR supports any set of commands, and the TTS is optimized to pronounce names and numbers, as well as text written in Hiragana and Katakana. Japanese names are usually written in Kanjii symbols and Rubidium's Japanese TTS was optimized for a very extensive list of names to verify its pronunciation with thousands of Kanji symbols.
“We have already developed embedded Voice User Interface (VUI) solutions for many applications and in many languages,” states Shlomo Peller, CEO and Founder of Rubidium Ltd. “We are lucky enough to have a very effective language development team with a proven methodology and highly-automated tools. Adding support for the Japanese language was a relatively smooth process.”
Rubidium has been a recognized innovator in embedded speech processing technology for domestic appliances and consumer applications, with a global installed base exceeding 50 million units. Rubidium's multilingual voice user interface solutions, from low-cost chips and modules to embedded software, include compelling solutions such as always-listening hands-free Voice Trigger, Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), speech compression and playback (e.g. speech storage, transmission and retrieval) as well as biometric Speaker Verification.
“Rubidium’s core technology is language independent in nature,” states Peller. “Our unique technology enables us to provide our clients with a quick turnaround time for requested languages. As a result, we usually integrate a new language, any language, in a matter of weeks.”
