SecTor 2014 Launches Exclusive Canadian CSO Summit, sponsored by KPMG
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) October 21, 2014 -- It didn’t take long for SecTor to become the largest IT Security conference in Canada, and with over 1,600 professionals in attendance this year, the timing is perfect for assembling the CSOs of Canada’s Fortune 500 corporations to have a closed-door summit, where their unique concerns and opportunities can be discussed amongst an exclusive professional peer group.
Founded in 2007, the SecTor conference was built by security professionals, for security professionals. The mandate, says Brian Bourne, Co-Founder of SecTor, was “to bring together experts from around the world to share their latest research and techniques, so we could expose the underground threats to corporate and personal IT systems, and identify, debate and mount the strongest defences possible.”
The CSO Summit was developed with the support of sponsor KPMG. According to Bourne, “CSOs of large firms have unique sets of challenges and responsibilities that they must be accountable for. We’re pleased to be bringing together the CSOs from Canada’s largest organizations under the SecTor conference umbrella. The Summit will provide an invaluable opportunity for CSOs to leverage and combine expertise and experience to protect, defend and build the nation’s most crucial networks.”
This year’s CSO Summit will focus on the topics of Supplier Risk and Breach Management. Joined by SecTor Keynote speaker, Ray Boisvert, the CSOs will benefit from his vast experience and knowledge. Formerly the Assistant Director, Intelligence at CSIS, Mr. Boisvert is now President and CEO of I-Sec Integrated Strategies, focused on building strategic partnerships, advanced surveillance and detection systems, as well as data solutions for public and private sector clients. The 8th annual SecTor conference runs October 21-22. More information is available online at http://www.sector.ca.
