SeeClickFix Selected for Inaugural Code for America 2015 Technology Award
New Haven, Conn. (PRWEB) October 01, 2015 -- SeeClickFix today announced it was named among the inaugural winners of the Code for America Technology Awards at the 2015 Code for America Summit. SeeClickFix is being recognized as a platform that helps government work better for the American people. Code for America partnered with Google for Entrepreneurs on this program.
SeeClickFix is an integrated platform for service request collection and management that allows citizens to play a central role in public services — routing neighborhood concerns like potholes and light outages to the right official with the right information.

The Technology Awards are designed to recognize new entrants into the market who are making a difference and to encourage talented entrepreneurs to consider how they might also serve their country.

Code for America is pleased to partner with Google for Entrepreneurs, which brings together startup communities and creates spaces for entrepreneurs to learn and work, on these awards. Technology Award winners will be invited to an afternoon at Google's Mountain View campus where they will have the opportunity to partake in mentor sessions with Googlers and hear from speakers on topics relevant to government technology.
The 2015 Technology Award Winners were selected by a panel of judges from both the tech and public sectors, including John Lyman (Head of Partnerships, Google for Entrepreneurs), Tim O’Reilly (founder and CEO, O’Reilly Media), Beth Niblock (CIO, City of Detroit), Ron Bouganim (Managing Partner, Govtech Fund), Matt Mazzeo (Lowercase Capital) and Aneesh Chopra (Co-Founder, Hunch Analytics and first-ever Chief Technology Officer of the United States).

About SeeClickFix
SeeClickFix allows citizens to play an integral role in public services — routing neighborhood concerns like potholes and light outages to the right official with the right information. This engagement has both a tangible and emotional effect — improving infrastructure, increasing understanding and building trust.
To accomplish this, SeeClickFix provides an integrated platform for service request collection and management. Citizens submit requests via SeeClickFix mobile apps and website tools — city call takers enter phone calls, drop ins, emails and tweets into the SeeClickFix as well. From there, these requests are routed either manually or automatically based on location and request type, to the right person with the right information.
City staff are then notified within SeeClickFix that work has been assigned. As the work is updated and subsequently closed, the citizen receives automatic updates.
This process increases the total level of citizen participation as well as the perceived quality of these services. SeeClickFix also reduces the costs associated with these services by reducing phone calls, introducing automated responses and reducing the frictional costs of communication.
