Seven Attractions/Events Not To Be Missed at the 2017 Grays Harbor County Fair
Elma, WA (PRWEB) August 03, 2017 -- If you love the Grays Harbor County Fair, you know all about the entertainment, exhibits, food, rides and fun – and this year’s Fair, Aug. 9-13 in Elma, is ready to deliver it all once again.
But the Fair also offers lots of hidden treasures throughout the fairgrounds. Here are seven not-to-be-missed attractions and events at this year’s Grays Harbor County Fair:
A Walk on the Wildside: Provides wildlife education for young and old alike, through an entertaining close up of nature’s most amazing animals. The crowd-pleasing program incorporates audio, visual and live animal exhibits. The show is offered daily and is sponsored by Sierra Pacific and Great Northwest Federal Credit Union.
Steve the Pretty Good Comedy & Magic Show: Steve Hamilton takes the classics of magic and gives them a unique and funny twist and then transforms his audience into hilarious magical assistants. Featured each day at the Jodesha Kids’ Zone Stage.
Pine Top Pickers: They call their style “fiddlegrass” – a mixture of bluegrass and old-time fiddle tunes with fiddle, banjo, baritone ukulele and upright base. A family favorite. Performing Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Jodesha Kids’ Zone Stage.
Talent Show: Area singers, dancers, comedians and others will compete in the 37th Annual Fair Talent Show on Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. on the Custom Security Stage. Cash prizes will be awarded for top talent in each age division – and it’s always a Fair favorite.
Car Racing: The Grays Harbor Raceway will roar with car racing on Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. – a Grays Harbor County Fair tradition – and like all the fair entertainment, the car races are free with paid admission to the Fair, and are sponsored by Grays Harbor Raceway.
Youth Livestock Auction: The livestock auction on Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. in the Montesano Farm & Home Arena provides an incentive to youth to exhibit and sell quality market stock, which have reached marketable size.
Muriel’s Petting Zoo: Kids will enjoy up-close animal encounters at the Petting Zoo, open daily at the Fair and sponsored by Foot & Ankle Surgical Associates.
“Our Fair theme this year is ‘Pig Tails & Country Trails’ as we honor the tradition of the Grays Harbor County Fair,” said Mike Bruner, Grays Harbor Fairgrounds and Tourism Manager. “There’s so much to see and do at the Fair. We encourage visitors from throughout Western Washington to come and enjoy some old-fashioned country fair fun.”
