Shunra Shares Insights on Mobile App Performance at HP Discover Barcelona
Philadelphia (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- Shunra Software, the industry-recognized authority in network virtualization for software testing, will co-present at two sessions on application performance testing at HP Discover in Barcelona, Spain on December 11, 2013. The first session, Mobile application testing expert panel discussion, will feature experts from multiple top corporations. These leaders in mobile application testing will share their real-world experience in testing mobile apps using HP Unified Functional Testing Mobile.
The second session, Testing mobile application performance using HP LoadRunner addresses why it’s critical for organizations to optimize mobile application performance for each and every software release. Speakers will share best practices for performance testing mobile applications with HP LoadRunner.
“Statistics show that mobile users consider abandoning an application after just 400 milliseconds of delay,” said Bill Varga, COO of Shunra. “And when they abandon an app, as many as 12 percent will then go directly to a competitor’s application. Great mobile application performance is the key to driving revenue, productivity, brand reputation and customer satisfaction. While mobility is complex, these sessions aim to demystify the mobile testing process and address the pitfalls enterprises encounter when delivering high-performing applications.”
While mobile testing is gaining prominence in the enterprise as a key discipline, test teams are still brought into the process too late in the application development lifecycle. This is according to the Capgemini World Quality Report 2013-2014.
The survey found that 55 percent of organizations perform mobile testing, up from 31 percent in 2012. But, 56 percent of organizations ranked the “lack of appropriate processes/methods” as the biggest challenge facing their testing efforts. And 45 percent start the testing process during or after the development phase.
“There is a disconnect between what companies know they should do and what they’re actually doing in terms of application testing,” said Varga. “Organizations want to know what to do. We expect that desire to make these sessions two of the best attended at HP Discover Barcelona.”
David Berg, Shunra’s vice president of product strategy, will speak at the first session. Berg has over 15 years of experience in performance engineering, development and automation. He is a recognized expert in protocol design, mobile performance and software performance engineering. Berg has received the Chairman’s Challenge Award from Motorola and Shunra’s Product Management Excellence Award. He also holds certifications in product management and agile product management.
Todd DeCapua, Shunra’s vice president of channel operations, will speak at the second session. He has over 15 years of professional experience in managing IT departments for international corporations and consulting on issues of application development, delivery and performance. DeCapua received the 2010 HP Software Universe “Best and Brightest” award and the 2010 Vivit Leader of the Year award. More recently, he was named the 2013 Vivit Speaker of the Year and leads regional special interest groups focused on DevOps, Mobile and Agile. DeCapua is also a certified ScrumMaster.
