SkillsUSA Releases Audio PSA on the Skills Gap Featuring Celebrity Kayleen McCabe
Leesburg, Va. (PRWEB) September 28, 2017 -- National television personality Kayleen McCabe has joined with SkillsUSA to create video and audio public service announcements addressing the skills gap threatening our economy at the local and national levels.
Hundreds of thousands of the highly skilled technical jobs our economy increasingly depends on are available right now, and industry is desperate to fill them. Unfortunately, workers equipped with the necessary skills are in short supply. That’s the skills gap, and it’s a challenge our economy needs to overcome if it’s going to thrive. The good news is that, within that gap, opportunities for rewarding, successful careers abound. SkillsUSA helps students around the country make the most of those opportunities.
“Kayleen McCabe has been an avid supporter of SkillsUSA and the need for a skilled workforce,” says Tim Lawrence, SkillsUSA executive director. “Through her television programs and Facebook fans and in frequent public appearances, Kayleen has consistently championed the dignity of work. In the process, she has become our SkillsUSA champion.”
SkillsUSA members, supporters and others can download the PSA from the SkillsUSA website and provide it to local radio stations in their community. In this way, every member can help share the SkillsUSA message about the need for a skilled workforce.
SkillsUSA’s scope is national, but the roots of the organization spring from more than 4,000 local chapters across the country. These PSAs will be of interest to students, parents and businesses, each standing to benefit from involvement in the SkillsUSA program.
