SLCC Picks New VP for “Effectiveness and Planning”
Taylorsville, Utah (PRWEB) January 15, 2015 -- Salt Lake Community College President Deneece G. Huftalin recently chose Barbara Grover as Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning.
“Barbara has been instrumental in helping us successfully address accreditation, strategic planning and institutional outcome reporting,” said Dr. Huftalin. “Her position will become increasingly important as we strive collectively to “move the needle” on access, completion, transfer, workforce training and community partnerships.”
Grover has previously served at SLCC as assistant provost for institutional effectiveness and is the accreditation liaison officer for the College. Her experience at SLCC includes Senate Curriculum Committee chair and academic division chair. As vice president, she will oversee Institutional Inquiry and Analysis, Institutional Research, Center for Innovation and Professional Development, Faculty Teaching and Learning Center (FTLC), and Educational Initiatives.

Originally from New Jersey, Grover earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Princeton University and a Master of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Oregon. She taught math and computer science at Central Oregon Community College before engaging a track toward tenured mathematics faculty member at SLCC. After completing her undergraduate degree she also spent time working on “population biology field studies” in South America. In her spare time she enjoys reading mysteries, practicing yoga and hiking in the desert.
