Small Businesses Finding More Reasons to Move to the Cloud
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) April 29, 2014 -- In a move typical across the financial accounting and business management software space, Beallberry, LLC—a franchisee of several Pink Berry and Jimmy John’s locations around the country—has opted to forego the traditional “on-premise and perpetual licensing” system that until recently has dominated the industry. In its place, Beallberry has partnered with SMBSuite to use a 100% cloud-based Microsoft Dynamics GP deployment.
Many small and midsize businesses have confronted the limitations of their financial accounting solution as they grow. Traditionally, more complicated needs like managing inventory place an organization in a class above what entry-level solutions like Quickbooks are able to deliver. At that point it has historically been necessary to spend tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars to purchase complicated hardware and software licenses to “step-up” to an enterprise level solution.
In fact, Beallberry had made the very same investment in the past, previously using Dynamics GP in a traditional on-premise model. But as the time to renew licenses approached, Brenna DeJoy, Accountant & Project Lead with Beallberry, did a total cost of ownership analysis to determine what they would spend to get their existing environment current and then maintain the solution internally, versus the benefits of outsourcing the entire solution to SMBSuite and simply paying a monthly subscription cost. “For us, it was a no-brainer. To relieve the IT resources we were previously dedicating to our ERP system, to get on the latest version of the software, and to get unlimited 24/7 helpdesk was a huge plus. I didn’t really expect to see such a cost savings over 3 years, but we really did.”
“SMBSuite is already very competitive for customers new to the cloud financial accounting space. In fact, we find that customers who have never even considered Microsoft Dynamics before are more receptive to our solution than those who are already using and liking the software, but are using the more cost-prohibitive traditional licensing model. We urge everybody to give us a call and break the numbers down with us. People are shocked by how much they can save,” explains Matt Woodward, President of SMBSuite.
In fact, Beallberry was so impressed that DeJoy has become something of an evangelist for those Dynamics users still wary of cloud subscription pricing: “we were live in 2 weeks. We experienced no downtime and the solution is so much more flexible and affordable than what we were doing before. I tell everybody.”
To that end, she will be appearing live with SMBSuite during their May 21st web event: “How SMBs are Benefiting By Moving to the Cloud” to talk about her experience and answer questions that other people in similar roles and business goals might have about taking the plunge. “The industry has changed,” says Woodward, “you can’t afford to not consider the cloud seriously. And if you thought it was a fad or wasn’t for your business—think again. It’s here to stay and to permanently change the way we buy and sell software solutions.”
