Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- SonoSim, Inc., developers of the groundbreaking SonoSim® Ultrasound Training Solution, announced today the formation of SonoSim International to commercialize their products worldwide. SonoSim International will initially operate out of SonoSim headquarters in Santa Monica, California, and will expand into global markets via distribution partners.
“We have been inundated by requests for the SonoSim product line from outside the United States,” stated Dr. Dan Katz, VP Sales and Product Development at SonoSim Inc., “and with the tremendous growth in demand for our products domestically, we realized the time was right to launch internationally.”
SonoSim products are designed to simplify ultrasound education. SonoSim integrates didactic courses created by leaders in ultrasound education with hands-on training, allowing users to scan over 1,000 actual patients with a broad spectrum of normal and pathologic conditions. SonoSim provides a simple and proven-effective “anytime, anywhere” solution for those seeking to learn or teach ultrasound.
“The importance of ultrasonography to medical diagnoses and therapies is growing rapidly, but the main barrier for adoption of this technology is education and training,” stated Dr. Katz. “That fact holds true in international markets as well. Our mission is to make it as easy as possible for busy physicians, nurses and students worldwide to effectively attain this high-demand skill.”
To help lead SonoSim’s international efforts, SonoSim has hired Derek McLeish as president of SonoSim International. Dr. Katz stated, “Derek is a seasoned business executive and has developed multimillion-dollar international product lines across industries. He also brings highly valued insights and experiences from industries that directly relate to SonoSim’s strategic vision and business interests.”
“Having served on the Board of Directors of SonoSim since 2007, I am proud of the progress SonoSim has made,” stated Derek McLeish, President of SonoSim International, ”Now is the time to apply my international experience at Gillette, Panavision and Atari to our global initiative.”
