Sorrel Sky Gallery Welcomes Contemporary Jewelry Artist, Cody Sanderson
Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) January 22, 2015 -- Sorrel Sky Gallery announces the representation of award-winning contemporary, Navajo jewelry artist, Cody Sanderson to its Santa Fe location. Sanderson will make a personal appearance and present a talk on his collections during the Art Matters Santa Fe event Saturday, February 7 from 5 – 7 p.m.
Sanderson grew up in Window Rock, Arizona. In 1999, he began making his own designs by watching and learning from other artists and taking classes and workshops. His skills in jewelry making often involves hand-fabricated techniques such as stamping, forging, casting and metal bending. Sanderson designs are truly cutting edge as he loves the challenge in creating something different and says, “I really enjoy waking up to know I’m going to create something. A new day is a new piece.”
Since Sanderson’s first appearance at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 2002, his work has skyrocketed in popularity. He has earned numerous awards, including the prestigious Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market Best of Show and the SWAIA Indian Market 1st Place ribbon.
