Springbrook Participates in Light it Up Blue for Autism Awareness
ONEONTA, NY (PRWEB) April 02, 2014 -- The Tom Golisano Center for Autism at the School at Springbrook will be participating in Light it Up Blue and invites local community members to do the same. Springbrook is the leader in providing compassionate supports for special needs people of all ages, and is the only residential school in the area for children whose primary diagnosis is autism.
The Tom Golisano Center for Autism offers effective, evidence-based, individualized supports in a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week setting for children with a primary diagnosis of autism. Springbrook is dedicated to early diagnosis and treatment of autism, which can greatly improve not only the lives of individuals with the condition, but also the lives of the parents and family members of a person with autism. By participating in Light it Up Blue, Springbrook hopes to bring awareness and sustaining compassion about autism to the surrounding area.
Each April 2, Autism Speaks commemorates World Autism Awareness Day with the global campaign, Light it Up Blue. Since 2010, the campaign’s intention has been to encourage businesses to use blue exterior lights and community members to use a blue light on their front porch or in their windows on April 2 to help raise awareness about autism.
