Stanton Communications Promotes Four
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- Further positioning itself for growth and expansion in the competitive public relations and public affairs markets, Stanton Communications, a national strategic communications firm, today announced the promotion of four executive leaders within the agency.
As part of the new structure, Amy Calhoun and Catherine Imus will move into newly-created roles as Executive Vice Presidents/Senior Strategists. Lori Russo will assume the title Managing Director, Mid-Atlantic with responsibility for both the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore offices. Patrick Brady is promoted to Managing Director, Public Affairs. Peter Stanton remains in his role as President and CEO while continuing to oversee Stanton Communications’ operations in New York.
“Our firm has achieved success over the past 24 years by focusing intensely on client service excellence. That cannot change. But we also appreciate that as the practice of professional communications continues to evolve, we must stay current with these changes,” said Peter V. Stanton, President and CEO. “A greater emphasis on forecasting the future of the field and our place in it is imperative to our long term success,” he said.
Calhoun and Imus will have responsibility for that forecasting. Each has led client initiatives and agency programs over tenures with the firm that combined total more than 30 years. Their diversified portfolios range from marketing and corporate communication to issue and crisis campaigns for clients in the telecommunications, chemicals, high tech and banking industries. Coupled with their prior work in major corporations and agencies including GE, Bethlehem Steel, and Ketchum Public Relations, they bring the depth of experience necessary to take a broad view of the marketplace and the field of public relations and make strategic recommendations for the future of the firm.
While both will continue to serve clients, they will add these larger leadership roles dedicated to agency visioning and capability expansion. Both have created and led programs recognized with multiple Silver Anvils and helped Stanton Communications gain recognition as a leading independent firm with national and global capabilities.
In her expanded role, Lori Russo, a 14-year veteran of Stanton Communications, will direct daily operations of the firm’s offices in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. Russo will build upon the firm’s and her own portfolio of work for clients across a broad spectrum of industries including education and education technology, national security, finance and travel and tourism. She will oversee the firm’s growth in business-to-business marketing, brand development, digital engagement, strategic planning, crisis communication and executive training.
As Managing Director, Public Affairs, Patrick Brady assumes responsibility for building the agency’s portfolio of work on legislative and policy initiatives and enhancing the firm’s capabilities in issue advocacy, strategic communications, grassroots mobilization and coalition building. During his five year tenure with Stanton Communications, Brady has created and directed programs for clients in a diverse set of industries including health care, manufacturing, transportation, gaming, career education and long term care. He will draw upon more than 20 years of experience in public affairs to further grow the practice that has long been a mainstay of the firm’s success.
