STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder Announces New Website
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) June 22, 2016 -- On the heels of announcing the merger of SPD Foundation and STAR Center, STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) announces the launch of their new website with revamped resources for individuals with SPD. STAR Institute is the world leader in SPD treatment, education, and research providing hope and help to families globally.
Visitors will enjoy two free revamped resources, the Library of Research and the Treatment Directory. The Library of Research is home to publications related to SPD that are authored by the STAR Institute research team, members of the Scientific Work Group, and other contributors to the field of SPD research. Users are now able to easily search the Library of Research due to new search features. The Treatment Directory is a one-of-a-kind online guide to services created to help individuals and families find health care, education, and community service providers experienced in working with those who have SPD and other special needs. Service providers located worldwide are listed. This overhauled directory now provides faster load times for users and expanded search features.
STAR Institute has also created a new section on the website dedicated to SPD awareness called Understand Sensory Processing Disorder. The goal of this new addition is to make information on SPD more accessible to parents, individuals and professionals trying to educate themselves on the basics of this disorder.
The new website also features several of STAR Institute’s therapists in action while children, adolescents, and adults who have benefited from the STAR Treatment Model were also photographed and featured throughout the website.
SPD is a neurological disorder that disrupts the way an individual processes and responds to sensations. A person with SPD usually has difficulty with social interactions, emotion and behavior regulation, and/or motor performance. SPD affects daily activities and relationships, which greatly impair quality of life.
