Steckler LLP Presents at In-House Counsel Summit
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 31, 2014 -- Bruce Steckler, Mazin Sbaiti and Lance Pool of the Dallas-based litigation boutique firm, Steckler LLP, delivered the presentation “The Value Proposition of Going to Trial: 12 Effective Strategies that Maximize Value and Results in Your Litigation Efforts" at the 2014 In-House General Counsel Summit at CityPlace in Dallas, Texas. Nearly 150 attorneys registered for the full day summit organized by Texas Lawyer, and the event was sponsored by several prominent law firms including Steckler LLP. Mazin Sbaiti moderated the panel discussion with his colleagues Bruce Steckler and Lance Pool. Their presentation discussed solutions to many of the common challenges facing legal departments today.
“Many of our clients feel like they are forced to choose between value or the right outcome when choosing outside litigation counsel,” said Mazin Sbaiti. “It really shouldn’t be an either-or proposition – the strategies we present show how to get results and value by insisting on a different approach to litigation.”
The attorney presenters from Steckler LLP discussed the importance of designing a litigation plan that is tailored to your outcome and budget. Selective and strategic use of the right team and tactics can drive you to the desired results.
“As a former General Counsel myself, I understand the threat of intellectual property suits, class actions, and government actions,” said Lance Pool. “We help our clients understand how to manage those business risks more efficiently and effectively.”
The presentation went on to explore a surprising statistic: Some of the largest verdicts are won by businesses in business cases. Whether for breach of contract, patent infringement or various other affirmative claims, or perhaps opt-in or opt-out claims in major class actions or anti-trust cases, corporations as plaintiffs are an increasingly common occurrence.
“We go beyond minimizing corporate legal expenses – we see how litigation can become a revenue generator. There are often good reasons for a business to bring legal claims—and for the legal department to bring in revenue,” says Bruce Steckler, founder of Steckler LLP. “ It can be a controversial approach, but we work with corporate clients all the time to identify and monetize these valuable opportunities.”
Steckler LLP is a Dallas, Texas law firm with four attorneys who together have nearly a hundred years’ worth of combined experience trying over seventy-five cases to juries, judges and arbitrators and preparing hundreds more that settled, in every field of law on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants.
