Summer is Saved With TurboCool - New Beverage Cooler Crowdfunded on Kickstarter
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- Co-founders Jeff Wheeland, Aleksei Naumov and Nicola Hedge, are now looking for the support of the community to help take the rapid can cooler concept from prototype to manufacturing via crowd-funding giant, Kickstarter.
The concept of the TurboCool is simple - just add ice, water, your warm canned drink, and pump for at least a minute and your cold canned beverage is ready to go. What’s even better is that TurboCool doesn't require electricity or batteries and is built to be compact and portable, making it useful for a variety of different indoor and outdoor activities.
Naumov was proud that two years’ worth of work had culminated in this innovative product that has the potential to revolutionize the drinks market. “While camping and waiting for our drinks to get cold, we committed to bringing alive the concept Jeff learned about in a college physics class to cool cans through a spinning motion without shaking up the can.”
To be made with a U.S. based manufacturer, TurboCool comes at a time where more than 95 billion beverage cans are produced nationally each year. Cans are increasingly the container of choice for beverages-makers since they are 100% recyclable and have excellent preservation qualities. Cans are also the best-selling container for beer nationwide, with 200+ microbreweries now serving their beer in cans – something the entrepreneurs take note of since San Diego is fast becoming a microbrewing hub.
TurboCool can also be used for regular 12oz canned sodas, juices and iced teas making it great for the whole family, whether at home, the beach, camping or tailgating.“Together with the expertise of Aleksei and his network of engineers, the TurboCool quickly advanced from 3D drawings to 3D printed prototypes, to our fourth version which we are ready to take to the community,” Hedge added.
TurboCool went live on KickStarter on Friday June 7th and already more than 300 people have pledged to fund this invention in return for perks such as pre-ordering a TurboCool, personalized versions of the product, to BBQ events in San Diego and beach clean-ups in donors’ honor.
