Super Bowl Ticket Demand Trending up as NFL Playoff Tickets go Unsold

Ticket prices for the Super Bowl are currently starting at close to $2600 and up per seat on secondary ticket sites and that is up about $500 per ticket from last year’s matchup in New Orleans between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. Fans in those cities are already paying the highest prices for playoff games and they’re both favored to reach the big game.”
It’s a little different story with some of the upcoming NFL playoff games. The Packers vs. 49ers matchup this Sunday should be the top draw of the Wild Card weekend games but the game hasn’t even sold out at the box office and prices are lower than many of the regular season games this past year. The projected freezing temperatures may have some effect on ticket prices but many season ticket holders held off ordering them when Aaron Rogers was out for 8 games and the odds of reaching the playoffs was slim.
By the end of the day on Jan. 19th the AFC and NFC Championship games will be over and fans in both cities will begin the search for Super Bowl tickets, transportation and accommodations.
