Tariq Drabu Says Patient Centred Care Results in a Busier, Happier Practice
(PRWEB) February 27, 2014 -- Tariq Drabu is a highly respected dentist. He is owner of the Langley Dental Practice in Middleton, Manchester. He is also the Clinical Lead Dentist for the Oral Surgery Clinical Assessment and treatment Services for NHS Heywood Middleton and Rochdale. He continues to enjoy a successful career as a family dentist and also as a respected teacher of post graduate dental students in England.
Tariq Drabu was speaking recently about the importance of patient centred services within a dental practice. He is a strong believer in ensuring patients are well cared for. He believes that high quality dental treatments are just one important aspect of patient care. At Langley, he works hard to ensure patients receive the information and support they need, and that the practice staff are knowledgeable, approachable, and helpful. In addition he invests time and resources to make sure his dental surgery is well equipped with state of the art modern equipment, and that it is comfortable, clean, and welcoming.
Tariq Drabu said, “I believe that every aspect of the customer experience within the dental practice environment should be carefully considered and addressed. In addition to being an important service within the health profession, dental surgeries are providing a service to increasing numbers of customers, and as such we must all take the necessary steps to ensure our patients are comfortable and well looked after.”
Tariq Drabu was referring to an article published by the Denistry website. The articles discusses a series of workshops that have been organised by Patient Plan to help practices become more patient centred. The article can be read here.
Tariq Drabu commented on the article, saying, “I have noticed a growing trend amongst dental practices around England. They are expressing a desire to become more patient centred in their approach. This series of workshops has come at an excellent time and I feel certain they will be well attended. The life of a dentist can be extremely busy, and most practices are also extremely busy, dealing with the day to day running and management of a busy dental surgery. However, I would urge as many of my colleagues as possible to consider patient centred approaches within their own practices. The workshops may prove to be extremely helpful to many people within the dental profession who want to improve their practices.”
Tariq Drabu closed by saying, “I have noticed an increasing number of practices that are directing their focus on patients. Patient centred care is not marketing jargon as some might believe. It is the art of seeing the patient experience through the eyes of the patient. This can be extremely enlightening, and highlight areas for improvement. Especially for family dental practices that are treating many people of different ages. I always recommend to my post graduate students, that they consider the patient experience through the eyes of each of their main patient groups. This could be children, working adults, young mothers, or the elderly. It is an invaluable way of gaining insight and creating a dental practice which really does care for all its patients. I’m proud to say that Langley is a patient centred practice and we will continue to work hard to ensure patients are well cared for while they are in our care.”
