Tender Hearts, Inc. a Non-Profit Launches its Grand Opening
(PRWEB) July 18, 2015 -- Living with a medically fragile child with chronic health care conditions can be very stressful and expensive. This can make a huge unreasonable financial impact on a family. From budgeting due to medical bills, special needs and securing employment, all is challenging to support the family of a medically challenged child. That is where the founder of Tender Hearts, Inc. Debria Doherty made a choice of making a difference for these families.
Tender Hearts, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation. Our mission is to donate to different organizations that support children with diverse needs in order to create a better quality of life.
As part of our mission, each year Tender Hearts, Inc. in joint efforts with Doherty & Associates, Inc. works to find an organization to support and hold a charity fundraiser.
This year we are happy to announce Exceptional Care for Children (ECC), http://www.exceptionalcare.org as our organization.
ECC, a local facility set on 7.7 tranquil acres in Newark, DE, is determined to help families with loved ones that have chronic health conditions. They are listed amongst the top 100 nursing homes in the country, and they provide transitional, long-term and palliative or end-of-life care to children who are medically fragile in a home-like environment. When a child has a chronic health condition they may require tube feedings, oxygen therapy, suctioning, tracheostomy care, or a ventilator, they may have limited mobility and require special health care support, and this is where ECC makes a difference. At this time, ECC features 31 unique and beautiful bedrooms along with colorful living rooms and cheerful program spaces, yet the 2nd and 3rd floors of their facility are incomplete. With additional space, ECC will have an opportunity to provide more children a haven for healing fragile bodies when improvement is possible and a refuge for nurturing vulnerable spirits when a cure is unattainable.
Having just completed a renovation, which added a parent suite for families facing end-of-life situations, the organization is now working toward a new goal of raising 2 million dollars in order to renovate and expand an existing building on their property. This renovation will result in two state of the art education spaces for onsite education services, an expanded Play Therapy space inclusive of a sensory room and a dynamic multidisciplinary therapy suite which will house the existing Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Pathology programs. This renovation will provide all residents of ECC with greater opportunities for growth, learning and progress.
In an effort to assist ECC with fundraising for their continued expansion, Tender Hearts, Inc. in joint efforts with Doherty & Associates, Inc. is hosting a “Casino Night” Black Tie Optional Gala on November 6th at the Waterfall Banquet & Conference Center on Philadelphia Pike in Wilmington, DE from 6:30pm – 11:30pm. There will be casino tables, a silent auction, raffles, photo booth, sit-down dinner, as well DJ’ entertainment and dancing. Ticket purchases are available on our web site http://www.dohertyandassociates.com/tender-hearts/november-6th-black-tie-optional-gala-exceptional-care-children/
