Tennis Round Automates Match Making; Finding a Tennis Partner Just Got Easier
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 07, 2013 -- Tennis Round - http://www.tennisround.com/ - the leader in recreational tennis player matching, has successfully completed its first goal of 500 matches scheduled via the Flex League app. The application was launched this summer in top 10 metro areas in the USA. The site itself is more broadly used by players in over 2,200 US cities to send one-on-one messages to individual tennis partners, and to find tennis courts or clubs.
"Players who have used the site for 5-6 months generally have a decent list of tennis friends. But people move. They change jobs, cities, schedules, travel plans. After a while people realize that looking for a match, even among tennis friends, can be a full time job. We outsourced that job to the Flex League app," said Alex Marinov, co-founder and CEO of the company.
Tennis players can still choose between a free and a paid plan. The Basic plan is free and it lets users create a player profile, choose the courts in which they want to be listed, and send tennis invitations to other players. On the other hand, the Flex League paid plan does all the work around looking for available tennis partners automatically.
Players can join the site here: http://www.tennisround.com/register.
The Flex League program automates the tennis partner matching process and looks for available players all the time. Participants get to report their match scores and earn points to advance in the official player rankings - http://www.tennisround.com/tennis-players/ranking. Match results become important benchmarks for seeking out even more compatible opponents, leading to more fun and competitive matches.
"People take great pride in reporting their match results; especially if they won the match. Sometimes they'll email us to brag about it - Hey, I won my match today. Feels great. Love the site! - and tell us they've made some new friends. There's no better compliment for us," said Alex.
Over the last couple of months the Flex League Program - http://www.tennisround.com/learn-more - has seen a steady adoption by Tennis Round members. The added value comes from having some else make the introduction. Some users are more proactive than others. They take the first step and send out a few match invites. But most people prefer to wait for someone to ping them; that someone is the app itself.
"We ran one regular Tennis League season, and our members kept asking us - Are you going to match me up? Will you connect me with someone? - or they would say - I'd love to play, but I can't commit to a schedule. - which made us think harder about the problem and brought us closer to solving for 'tennis on demand'," added Alex.
Tennis Round has also continued to add tennis courts suggested by its users. Nearly 5,300 cities in the US can now be found on the site with GPS accuracy, street view and the players who play at each court. Each city has a carefully curated and organized list of tennis facilities, like San Francisco, CA - http://www.tennisround.com/tennis-courts/ca/san-francisco - or San Diego, CA for http://www.tennisround.com/tennis-courts/ca/san-diego - for example. Now almost every tennis facility in the country has entered the tennis vernacular with its own name - Buena Vista Park, Hamilton Park, Lafayette Square Park - which makes it a bit easier to coordinate a location for the match.
