The Epps-Elson Team Educates First-Time Homebuyers
Carmel, IN (PRWEB) April 20, 2016 -- “Buying a home, although an exciting venture, can be a very stressful and confusing process for a first-time homebuyer, especially in the active market we are experiencing right now,” said RE/MAX Realtor Cathy Epps of The Epps-Elson Team. “However, there are aspects of the process that every first-time buyer should know beforehand that can make it an easier and successful endeavor.”
To assist first-time homebuyers, The Epps-Elson Team, which recently won a production award at the RE/MAX International Convention, lists the following three tips to better ensure success:
No. 1: Talk to a lender. “This should happen before even looking for a house to buy,” said Kevin. “By doing this, you will be able to determine the best mortgage program for you before you commit to purchasing a house. You will also be educated on what price range of home to search for so your mortgage payment fits into your monthly financial picture.”
No. 2: Get pre-qualified. “Pre-qualification makes the prospective buyer a much more attractive option in the eyes of a seller than a potential buyer who is not pre-qualified, which gives the pre-qualified person a leg up over the fierce competition that has come to define the real estate market,” said Cathy.
No. 3: Find a reputable Realtor. “It is always essential to hire a local Realtor who has a proven track record and knows the market,” said Kevin, who was recently named Manager of the Year for RE/MAX Ability Plus. “A reputable Realtor will have insider knowledge, working relationships with lenders and listings that you will most likely not be able to find on your own.”
