The New Micro Bird T-Series Bus Line Debuts at NAPT
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- Once again, pioneering bus manufacturer Blue Bird advances the industry with a fresh and innovative Type A bus. Underscoring its tag line, “a heritage of looking ahead,” the Micro Bird T-Series debuted at the National Association for Pupil Transportation Trade Show to an enthusiastic crowd of hundreds of school transportation professionals who praised the striking new design and numerous best-in-class features.
Described as a “game-changer,” the Micro Bird T-Series features a contemporary and ergonomic design which highlights the bus’ narrow body, designed to provide enhanced maneuverability and optimum efficiency. The new body’s aerodynamic features aid in increasing fuel economy by approximately 20 percent and offering the lowest cost of operation for a bus under 25 passengers— a capacity that accounts for approximately 40 percent of the Type A market. The bus is available lift-equipped in single and dual rear wheel with an impressive capacity of up to 25 passengers under 10,400 pounds.
Powered by an automotive leader, the dynamic Ford engines and six-speed automatic transmission are a powerful synergy with over seven million miles of testing. Available fuel options include gasoline and diesel.
Drivers will appreciate the T-Series’ responsive power and commanding view of the road. The driver’s cockpit includes maximized driver visibility, a signature Micro Bird design characteristic. In addition, the placement of switches in the cockpit has been optimized to provide the greater driver comfort and safety. The line also features ease of maintenance with easily accessible wiring, electrical components and engine compartment.
“Micro Bird is thrilled to introduce the new T-Series line at the NAPT Summit,” said Steve Girardin, president and CEO of Micro Bird, Inc. “Micro Bird is proud to be the industry front-runner in this new bus line and the numerous best-in-class features highlight Micro Bird’s commitment to leading the industry with cutting-edge transportation solutions. Transportation directors will appreciate the impressive fuel economy, drivers will love the responsive power and service technicians will welcome the ease of serviceability. Our Micro Bird T-Series is a true game-changer.”
The Micro Bird T-Series is available in the school bus, MPV, MFSAB and commercial configuration. Micro Bird is taking orders for the new line with full production scheduled for the spring of 2015.
Established in 2009, Micro Bird is a joint-venture company between Blue Bird and the Girardin Family— a long-standing relationship that spans nearly 50 years.
