Thomas HVAC Now Offering Blown-in Attic Insulation
Huntsville, AL (PRWEB) March 04, 2015 -- The heating and air conditioning contractors at Thomas HVAC recently introduced blown-in attic insulation to their line-up of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)-related services.
Bo Thomas, Owner, says Thomas HVAC is introducing this method of insulation to comply with Huntsville Utility's recent requests to reduce energy consumption.
"Recently, Huntsville Utility requested that homeowners cut down on their energy consumption, and reducing your home's heating and cooling usage is one of the easiest ways to do that," Thomas explains. "We decided to start offering blown-in attic insulation to help homeowners cut down on these costs."
During the warmer months, attics tend to get very hot -- sometimes as hot as 140 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. If one's attic isn't properly insulated from the rest of the house, this excess heat will seep into one's living space, making the home's air conditioning system work harder and consume more energy.
"It ends up costing you more money if you don't have insulation between your living space and in the attic," Thomas says. "We found that we could offer this blown-in attic insulation much cheaper than a lot of our competitors do, which allows us to provide more insulation to customer’s homes and help them maintain a higher level of energy-efficiency."
Unlike other forms of insulation, blown-in insulation -- which, as its name implies, involves blowing in fiberglass or cellulose insulation materials through a hose into the attic -- is extremely effective at keeping a home insulated from its attic. Typical R-values of blown-in insulation fall in the 3 to 4 per inch range.
According to Thomas, more information about these installations -- and on how to get a free assessment for these installations -- will be available on Thomas HVAC's website and Facebook page within the next few weeks.
"Just give us a call and we'll arrange a time for our crew to come out and set up a free quote," Thomas says. "Every homeowner would benefit from a free assessment for this service."
