Tomatina Restaurants Announce New Union Landing Location
SAN RAFAEL, CA (PRWEB) June 25, 2014 -- Tomatina (http://www.tomatina.com), a casual, chef-inspired restaurant, is moving forward with expansion plans as it announces plans for a new location at Union Landing across from Century Theatres in Union City, CA set to open late 2014, this will be Tomatina’s eighth location and the third new restaurant since opening its San Rafael location at Northgate Mall. Tomatina is planning to double the number of stores it has throughout Northern California over the next 18 months.
Mark Nicandri, Senior Vice President of Operations at Tomatina, is pleased to be adding a fourth East Bay location. “Our locations in Alameda, Walnut Creek and Dublin are among our most popular and we see great potential in this new location at Union Landing. Tomatina is a great option for the area and visitors of the center to enjoy quality Italian food for lunch or dinner.”
The new location was designed by Marcelo Alberti of Alberti + Alberti Architecture (http://albertiarchitecture.com/) and will feature a full bar, sliding glass windows and a large outdoor dining area with firepit. The restaurant will be situated near other dining options like Texas Roadhouse, the new Buffalo Wild Wings, Fuddruckers and Chili’s. Great entertainment is close at hand with a Century 25 movie theater and iFLY Indoor Skydiving.
Tomatina specializes in modern interpretations of traditional Italian recipes, including its signature piadines and made-from-scratch dough, sauces, dressings and desserts. Nicandri sees great opportunity in continuing the fresh proposition as the restaurant expands. “Our customers appreciate that our food is made to order with fresh ingredients. And we are proud that each restaurant has a full-time chef on staff to ensure a great meal every time you dine with us.”
As part of the expansion plan, management recently completed a comprehensive remodel of all five existing stores, taking advantage of a newly developed identity and in-store design elements. This was the first remodel effort since Chef Michael Chiarello founded the concept in 1998. The brand has also launched a new logo, website and online ordering system. The brand’s aggressive growth plans have been augmented with new catering services expanding the brand beyond the brick and mortar locations.
“This is an exciting time at Tomatina,” said Nicandri. “Our restaurants already have a very loyal following and our new look and marketing efforts are already paying dividends. We are constantly on the hunt for new locations and I’m thrilled to be part of this great brand during this time of growth.”
