Transglobal Express launches new website
Bromborough, Wirral (PRWEB UK) 1 December 2013 -- The new site combines the two areas of the business on one better designed, user-friendly platform. The company, which commenced trading as a freight forwarder in 1993, had previously offered air freight and sea freight services on a separate website to its door-to-door courier services.
Customers are now able to access quotes, compare prices and make orders for sending freight by air and sea, as well as for door-to-door courier services via carriers such as DHL, UPS and TNT. Eventually, customers will be able to compare air freight, sea freight and courier services on a single quote screen.
The impetus behind the new site was to make both business and personal shippers aware of the variety of shipping solutions on offer. “Demand for economical international shipping has seen a massive increase, over the last decade,” explained Managing Director Lawson Archer, “and, with this growth, the distinction between commercial and private customers has become less defined. By enabling all customers to get quotes, compare prices and book both freight and courier services on an all-purpose website, we're giving customers more visibility and we're making it easier for both SMEs and private customers to select the best shipping solution for their needs.”
Customer feedback and data from a consultation with customer-facing staff have played a very important role in informing the design and development of the new site, which the recently expanded Web Development and Communications team have been building for approximately six months. As a result, Transglobalexpress.co.uk offers a range of new customer benefits, including an improved My Account area for better order management, an API tool enabling larger customers to link up with Transglobal's backend systems and greater integration of sea and air freight special rates into the automated booking system.
Web Development Manager Stephen Roberts said that many customers have already taken advantage of the new site’s benefits. He commented, "The site has been redesigned with a fresh new look and the feedback we have received so far has been very positive. It’s built using the latest technologies, giving us a solid platform on which to build for the future. The improvements of the new site don’t stop with the launch: we are constantly working to add new features and make improvements for our customers.”
Customers registered on the company’s original website have been invited to move over to the new site, but Transglobal will keep both sites running for an adjustment period.
