Treatment-Resistant Head Lice Now Found in 42 U.S. States
Miami, Florida (PRWEB) August 03, 2016 -- It’s been nearly a year since “super lice” were discovered by a team of researchers at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. In February, Today reported the mutant strains of the pests to be in 25 states. Now, however, that number has nearly doubled to 42 states, according to ParaPro.
The study, published in the Journal of Medical Entomology, confirms that Super Lice are resistant to pyrethrin and pyrethroids, the active ingredients in over-the-counter lice treatments such as Nix.
“We only use our all-natural products and treatment method because it’s been proven time and time again to be the only safe and effective way to get rid of these super bugs,” stated Arie Harel, owner of Lice Troopers, Inc., an all-natural head lice removal company based in South Florida.
The company manually removes super lice and nits using their lice treatment shampoo, which does not contain any pyrethrin or pyrethroids, and their lice removal comb. By using their method, the company is able to guarantee an effective treatment that is free of toxic chemicals.
“With the bugs getting stronger, it’s possible that those over-the-counter treatments may start to incorporate stronger chemicals, and we do not want our clients, especially the small children, exposed to that,” Harel says.
Florida remains on the list of states that super lice have been confirmed to inhabit. Lice Troopers has multiple treatment centers in Florida and also offers services via house calls.
Lice Troopers is the all-natural, guaranteed head lice removal service that manually treats and removes head lice safely and discreetly in child-friendly treatment centers, or other chosen location. Providing safe solutions for frantic families, the Lice Troopers team has successfully treated thousands of families with pediatrician-recommended services that may be reimbursed by many major health insurance carriers, flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.
