Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy Expands Curriculum, Becomes Tribeca Flashpoint College
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 05, 2015 -- Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy, a four-year creative college offering programs that span film, design, marketing, animation and audio engineering, announced that it has become Tribeca Flashpoint College. The change in designation to “College” reflects the institution’s expanding reputation as a leader in media arts education.
“In addition to broadening and deepening our educational offerings, we have expanded our student services, particularly in the areas of career services and student finance,” said Tribeca Flashpoint College CEO, Todd Steele. “We've also maintained excellent educational outcomes, specifically graduation and job placement rates, which are increasingly important to our students and their parents. In light of the rich and effective educational experience afforded to our students, we believe ‘College’ to be a more appropriate designation for our institution.”
Central to Tribeca Flashpoint’s curriculum is an emphasis on project-based learning. The school forges wide-ranging industry relationships through which students have opportunities to work alongside award-winning faculty practitioners on real-world client projects—honing their skills, gaining a first-hand understanding of how the industry operates, and building a robust portfolio of real-world experience. Recent partners include Second City, Shorts HD, Hardshell Labs, Plante Moran, GrubHub and the upcoming feature film Thrill Ride.
“I’ve spent more than two decades working in the film industry; what makes Tribeca Flashpoint College such a compelling institution is that it was created by the industry for the industry,” said Peter Hawley, Academic Dean and 25-year film industry veteran. “As our institution has evolved and expanded its offerings, we have maintained our commitment to industry-relevant, project-based education which is the hallmark of a Tribeca Flashpoint education.”
