Chapel Hill, N.C. (PRWEB) September 12, 2014 -- The University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School has awarded 11 Student Ambassador Scholarships for UNC Business Essentials, the online business certificate program which provides non-business majors with essential business knowledge, skills and confidence to differentiate themselves in today’s competitive job market.
The UNC-Chapel Hill students who received the scholarship, valued at $2,500, will serve as UNC Business Essential ambassadors for this academic year by educating others about the online business certificate program and its benefits.
The new ambassadors are Emily Chalk, Mackenzie Dolan, Chloe Imus, Amanda McClung, Gabby Migliara, Sapna Patel, Alexandra Puszczynski, Tyler Sparks, Lauren Sutton, Devin Walker and Katie Yost.
The program helped the employment search of Caroline Conner, a former student ambassador. “UBE was fundamental to helping me secure a summer internship in management. UBE is more than a line on my resume. It has given me the confidence, verbiage, knowledge and practical skills that I need to be successful.”
The UNC Business Essentials program includes six online courses: introduction to business, financial accounting, economics and finance, marketing, business operations and business communication. Students who successfully complete the program can cite the UNC Business Essentials certificate from UNC Kenan-Flagler on their resumes.
"My experience with UNC Business Essentials was fantastic,” said David LeCount, a UNC Business Essentials graduate. “The program was stimulating, easy to use and up to date with real world examples. I have implemented skills learned from the program in both my personal and business life. I would recommend the program to anyone needing a business foundation or a refresher."
The 100 percent online program has no residential requirements, so students can start it at any time and tailor it to their schedules. UNC Kenan-Flagler graduate students are available 24 hours a day and seven days a week via discussion boards to help students gain a thorough understanding of the materials.
UNC Business Essentials was developed by combining UNC’s curricular expertise with ADEPT Central’s experience in e-learning and instructional design. UNC partners with Agilix for the BrainHoney course management system.
