Upcoming TV Shows Filmed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip Feature Rally Highlights
Sturgis, SD (PRWEB) October 15, 2013 -- A wide array of television programs will feature the Legendary Sturgis Buffalo Chip® in episodes to air in the coming months. The world-class concerts, crazy contests, daring stunts, and unique culture of the Sturgis campground’s Motorcycle and Music Festival have been featured in dozens of cable television programs throughout the years and will again be when upcoming Travel Channel’s Top Gear hits TV Oct. 22, when CMT’s Orange County Choppers hits mid November, and as more features follow suit. This year, the nation will be able to watch more Sturgis Rally footage from the Buffalo Chip than ever before.
“Top Gear” will be airing all-new episodes of its fourth season on HISTORY next week starting with an episode filmed at Sturgis Bike Week. During the episode, hosts Tanner Foust, Adam Ferrara and Rutledge Wood each start their journey on scooters and must pass a series of challenges in order to upgrade to bigger, more appropriate rides for Sturgis. Once in Sturgis, they must transport one of the bands playing at the world famous Buffalo Chip venue to their gig. Tune in to HISTORY Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. ET/ PT to see who wins this amusing challenge.
The upcoming series premier of CMT’s “Orange County Choppers” also features footage from the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. In the episode, OCC’s fearless leader, Paul Teutul Sr., and his team have only two and half weeks to design and build a chopper to be presented to a wounded combat veteran on the Buffalo Chip’s Wolfman Jack Stage. Tune in to CMT on Nov. 16 at 9 ET/PT to see the touching moment when the Buffalo Chip and Orange County Choppers honor this Purple Heart recipient in front of a sea of die-hard motorcycle fans during the Sturgis Rally.
In August, Country Music Television (CMT) aired three hour-long specials, two of which, Biker Battles and Tunnel of Fire, are currently accessible to watch online. The episodes were filmed exclusively at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip Campground as part of its CMT Bike Week series. In September, Velocity TV featured footage from the Chip’s Biker Belles® charity event and ride in an episode of “All Girls Garage.”
“The phenomenon of the Sturgis Rally and the diversity of the biker lifestyle is captivating for all audiences, not just bikers,” says Rod Woodruff, president of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “These television programs give the world a look at this fascinating culture that’s been unique to the Buffalo Chip for over thirty years.”
Watch for more footage from the Sturgis campground’s 32nd annual Motorcycle and Music Festival in upcoming episodes of Discovery Channel’s “Cops and Bikers Project,” Velocity TV’s “Café Racer TV Show” and Travel Channel’s “Trip Flip” and “Food Paradise.” More details will be announced as air dates approach.
