Virginia Women’s Center in Tappahannock Now Open Four Days a Week
Tappahannock, VA (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- Thanks to the addition of four physicians, Riverside Health System is pleased to announce that the Tappahannock, Va. office of Virginia Women’s Center (VWC) is now open four days a week.
Joining Dr. Douglas Hutcheson and Dr. Louis Thompson, who have been seeing patients since the practice opened in Tappahannock in August 2013, are: Dr. Kathryn Stout, Dr. Kristin Schraa, Dr. Matthew Vogel, and Dr. Amie Miklavcic.
“I know that by expanding our practice’s presence in Tappahannock, we will make it even easier for women in this community to pursue a healthy lifestyle,” said Dr. Schraa. “I am grateful to play a role in this and look forward to welcoming many new faces to Virginia Women’s Center.”

Dr. Stout, whose passion is to provide high-quality health care to communities that need it, has been practicing women’s health care in the Northern Neck for more than a decade.
“I’m thrilled that through our team of physicians, we will be able to provide high-quality, local women’s health and pregnancy care to the women in Tappahannock,” Dr. Stout said.
Dr. Stout, who in addition to her medical degree holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Mason School of Business at the College of William and Mary, serves as a managing partner of VWC. She provides the full scope of office-based obstetrics and gynecology services in Kilmarnock and volunteers at the Northern Neck Free Health Clinic.
Dr. Hutcheson studied medicine and completed his residency at the Medical College of Virginia. He joined VWC in 1998 at the Mechanicsville office. Prior to that, he served as an assistant professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia.
Dr. Schraa earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the Medical College of Virginia and joined VWC in 1998 at the Mechanicsville office. She focuses on gynecology and has a particular interest in adolescent health, reproductive issues and perimenopause. She serves alongside Dr. Stout as a managing partner of VWC.
Dr. Thompson attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia and completed his residency at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Thompson focuses his practice on gynecology and has special interests in pelvic organ prolapse and osteoporosis.
Dr. Vogel holds a medical degree from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He has provided obstetrical and gynecologic care in the Northern Neck of Virginia for more than 20 years and recently joined VWC in April 2014.
Dr. Miklavcic studied medicine at the Drexel University College of Medicine and joined VWC at the Mechanicsville office in 2010. She specializes in routine and high-risk pregnancies, laparoscopic gynecology surgery and ambulatory gynecologic care. She is particularly interested in pediatric and adolescent gynecology.
