Xchange Technologies Wins 2013 Pioneer Award
Matthews, NC (PRWEB) September 29, 2013 -- The State of Kentucky Health Information Exchange (KHIE) has awarded its sixth annual Pioneer Award to Matthews-based Xchange Technologies, Inc. (XTi). The award was presented in conjunction with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services 2013 Kentucky eHealth Summit, attended by more than 300 people at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green.
According to Polly Mullins-Bentley, executive director of the Governor’s Office for Electronic Health Information, XTi was the only vendor chosen to receive the 2013 award; last year there were three winners. “Each year we select the organizations and healthcare providers who have done an exceptional job of implementing electronic health records and connecting with our state’s health information exchange. These vendors, hospitals, clinics and physicians’ offices are recognized for their expertise in the standards of health information technology, the Exchange, and Meaningful Use to meet the goals of an EHR in improving patient outcomes. This year’s winner was recommended by the staff as being a very good organization to work with.”
XTi has developed solutions to facilitate data exchange between healthcare providers, state registries, labs, and hospitals, as well as local and regional health information exchanges (HIE). The company’s solutions manage the conversion and transport of data between different information systems, so they can “talk to each other,” and support the benefits of electronic health records. XTi’s services are available through the company’s premier partner Tangible Solutions, a physician-centered technology provider focused on building healthcare communities through interoperability and connectivity of information systems. In addition to helping physician offices interface their EHR/EMR systems with labs, and upload data to state entities for Meaningful Use, Tangible helps them engage their patients, automate patient referrals and streamline workflow.
“We’re extremely pleased to have been honored by the State of Kentucky’s HIE for our success in making it easier for healthcare providers to get the patient information they need for effective diagnosis and treatment, to improve patient satisfaction and health outcomes, and to meet government standards,” says Tom Rutzell, chief software architect for XTi.
