Xpanxion Announces Philanthropic Initiative to Support Education in Information Technology
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) August 03, 2016 -- Xpanxion is announcing a new philanthropic initiative dubbed Paint the Town Red. Paint the Town Red is an Xpanxion sponsored measure to raise awareness and funds for the growing need of education in Information Technology and Computer Science. Technology is one of the fastest growing, highest paying, and most attractive career choices currently available. However, the count of those who pursue these careers continues to fall short. Research shows that students who have high school exposure to Computer Science are ten times more likely to pursue it as a career. Through Paint the Town Red, Xpanxion hopes to promote education in IT in our communities to give our youth a better future.
Xpanxion’s Director of Marketing Mason Wambolt, who is leading the team on the effort, said, “There seems to be a stigma around coding, that it is hard or unachievable, and we want to demystify that by exposing it to students like we would any other subject. Schools often fall short in providing that exposure, but technology is everywhere. It’s fun, there’s a lot of opportunity, and it’s an exciting time to be in the industry. That’s why we started Paint the Town Red.”
To kick-start the initiative, Xpanxion is hosting a fundraising banquet in Kearney, Nebraska to raise money for the IT department at Kearney High School. By partnering with the Kearney High School Foundation, Xpanxion is raising dollars to promote youth to pursue in-demand IT careers by funding critical items to make classes, equipment, and personnel available for students to learn the necessary skills to be successful. This fundraiser will be held on November 5th, 2016 with live music, dinner, cocktails, and a silent action.
Headquartered in Atlanta, and with offices in five states, Xpanxion plans to expand the initiative to the other communities in which it has a presence by driving similar events. For more information on the fundraising banquet in Kearney, visit http://www.PaintKearneyRed.com.
