Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Accident Guidance
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) April 20, 2015 -- Attorney Matt Powell, who has been handling personal injury cases for 26 years, recently published his Motorcycle Accident Guide, which illustrates step-by-step procedures to protect motorcycle riders before and after an accident.
“Unfortunately, motorcycle riders are 8 times more likely to be injured and 37 times more likely to die in a motorcycle accident than the occupant of a car in an automobile accident,” said Powell. “My guide will show motorcycle riders who have been in an accident how to protect their finances, health and family, and to find out what the insurance companies, don’t want you to know.”
If involved in a motorcycle accident, Powell stresses the first thing one should do is escape immediate danger, as nearly 62% of wrecks involve fuel leaks and spills. “Your first step should be to distance yourself from any fire hazard,” said Powell. “Get away from any other vehicular traffic.”
Next, if injured in a motorcycle crash, get prompt medical attention. If uninjured, report the accident immediately, as a police report will document the facts and identify all parties involved, along with any witnesses. “All too often, a motorcycle accident is blamed on the rider of the bike, which makes it critical that you protect yourself early on,” said Powell.
